Ontariois investing in public libraries inSudburyand across the province and making communities economically stronger as well as more vibrant and livable, Sudbury MPP Rick Bartolucci announced today.
“By fundingSudbury’s public libraries, the government is showing its commitment to investing in people and helping them succeed,” said Bartolucci. “Working together with our public library partners means a brighter future for all Ontarians.”
The Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport is providing funding to the Greater Sudbury Public Library for 2011-12 through the Public Library Operating Grant (PLOG) and Pay Equity programs. The programs provide annual operating funding to public library boards, local services boards, and First Nations that have established public libraries under the Public Libraries Act.
Virtually every library branch in the province provides access to electronic information through the Internet. This investment supports the government’s focus on providing Ontarians with:
